Q: How long are the meetings?
A: Meetings range from 1 to 2 hours in duration depending on the patient's needs.
Q: How often will we meet?
A: Most patients meet for weekly sessions, at least initially. Frequency is then modified to meet the patient's needs.
Q: Do you prescribe medications?
A: If you and your therapist decide that medication might be helpful, we will refer you to a physician or psychiatrist for assessment.
Q: Is the office handicap accessible?
A: Yes, the building and Shaevitz and Associates is completely handicap accessible.
Q: What are my payment options?
A: Our office accepts cash, checks, and credit cards. Payments are to be made at the time services are rendered. We are not affiliated with any PPO's and/or HMO's, including Medicare.
Q: What about confidentiality?
A: We are required by law to keep anything you tell us confidential with a few legal exceptions such as disclosure of child abuse or the danger of suicide. We will review these issues and the limits of confidentiality during your first session.
